A fantastic atmosphere - immensely friendly and supportive Great atmosphere - very encouraging for a beginner. The hills make it challenging - not overly so, but enough to help toughen you up and bring you along to the next level.

challenging but enjoyable The course was challenging but extremely enjoyable. There were lots of hills but there were also lots of down hills soon after giving you time recover before the next.

Although challenging it still offered PB potential (which i was on for before i pulled my calf at mile 10) i soldiered on for the last 3 miles and crossed the line 1 min slower than my best! The event was well organised and the Marshall's were superb. I will definitely be going back next year!

Up and down the hills in Essex Came here on a cold February morning from West London. Was a very friendly event and struggled with getting near PB as quite a challenging course. Enjoyable day out and will hopefully be back.

Friendly, superbly organised, quite tough Really recommend this race. It is local to me and I did it last year as well. It's superbly organised by the local running club: friendly, professional marshals (who remained cheerful throughout despite the freezing temperatures), regular water stations, easy parking, very quick results and great local support. It is hilly, but that's good training for a spring marathon. Obviously the roads aren't closed so there is some traffic dodging which might be annoying if you're at the front I guess.

My third time, will be back This is popular with the locals and despite the hills I love it. Well organised, superb marshalling which is necessary as local roads remain open. Also easy to park nearby, next to the start if you get there reasonably early.

Great workout, great organisation OK so this is a local run but doesn't detract from the fact it's a great race, well organised and well marshalled so well done Woodford Green AC for another great event managed like clockwork. Yes it's hilly and hard but a positive achievement at the end.

Very well organised Brilliant organisation under difficult conditions. Quite heavy traffic in parts, but the marshals did an outstanding job. My planner said 700' of climb, my Garmin said 1500+, so yes, hilly. Scenery so-so, but then it is running through a built-up area. Maybe I'll come back next year.

Worth a shot Did this race for the first time today. Great organisation & lots of marshalls. It's the only race I've done in such a residential area so I'm not sure how everyone in the area knows to come slowly out of all the side roads! Easiest race I've ever been to in terms of getting to a toilet beforehand! Lots of water on the way round which I didn't take advantage of and was disappointed there was no water at the end.

There are a good few hills & I found them long & steady. Having recently done Watford the hills were steeper there but you got nice down hills as a reward where as the downs were also more gradual here.

So all in all it wasn't easy but I wasn't a million miles off a pb & would happily come again next year.

Very well organised and friendly race... with hills and traffic! A very friendly race, well organised and with the track start and finish has lots going for it... and for the second year running the weather was perfect. But, large sections of the race are on narrow pavements next to busy roads which is not a good combination. The marshalls did a great job but the route could be improved greatly and made safer for all.
