What really let this race down for me was the organisation which was unncessarily excessive and just over complicated simple tasks. You had to collect your race number on the day which entailed joining a long queue and once at the front you had to check what your number was on an entrant list, tell a lady so she could write it on your hand, then sign something (not sure what for but my hands were so cold from queuing outside I couldn't write properly so my name would have been ileigible), then someone attached a chip to my wrist, another person gave me my race number, then someone checked my chip and finally someone handed me a t shirt which I had no bag to put it in so had to carry it throughout the race. The race start was delayed as a lot of runners were still in the registration queue. The start was also over complicated and each runner had to have their chip individually scanned before you could cross the start line so that took a while too. There was also a need to have your chip scanned a further 2 times during the race (more queuing), and having crossed the finish line we had to queue again to have it scanned a final time. The medal is generic and doesn't mention the distance so ultra runners get the same medal as 10kers.

The route itself is lovely but the cost of this race and the peculiar way it is organised mean I won't do it again.

Very well organised. A different type of race to the usual marathon
