Very well organised race with plenty of support, aid stations and more than enough marshalls.

This is a really excellent event. Superbly organised with loads of water stations and marshals (all sorts of sugary snacks at the water stations too). The route is beautiful: fairly hilly, but beautiful. Not one for a PB, but a fantastic run.

I did the full in 2010 & was glad to return back for the half this year. Glorious views & countryside and well marshalled (apparently over 250 over the course) & plenty of drink stations. I'd happily sign up now for next year if entries were open. Only request for next year - easier number collection on the morning of the race! Having to queue for a number then separately queue to have your name checked off the list seemed un-nessary, surely each row for number collection could have their own list to tick off at the same time as the collection? Only slight negative from the day, but overall 10/10 & please get entries open soon so I can sign up next year!

This event is brilliant organised and very friendly. I was slightly apprehensive of the course knowing there were some stinker hills but nothing too horrendous with lots of downhills to make up your time. Only slight negative is that it could start ALOT earlier, as the whole morning was gone. 9.30 start for the marathon and 10.30 start for the half. Bring it forward by an hour please. I would definitely do this again.

This is a great event, great scenery, great route, challenging and certainly not boring. I will certainly be doing it again next year.

The number collection for the half marathon was a shambles though, apart from that the organization was faultless.

I did the Half Marathon again this year and loved it; fabulous hilly and scenic course, brilliant support from the marshals, well organised. Well done to the organisers for another excellent race.

A once in a lifetime marathon, never to be repeated! A brute of course but will leave you with a sense of achievement. Feed stations and their volunteers were top drawer. Organisers and marshals make this a special race.

I'd been wanting to do the marathon after really enjoying the half and managed to do it with a friend this year (as I was worried about my speed). The scenery is lovely, there are plenty of water stations, some of which have heftier snacks, others jelly babies. The marshalls were friendly, although didn't seem to know who was at the back! Although there's no cut-off, we did find later on some marshalls had left (water was left out) and signs became hard to find - once we had to stop and wait for the people behind for help (fortunately one of them had run it before and recognised the way). If you'll be over 6 hours I'd personally stick with the half, although a few people are longer than that - it is very hilly!

First time at the Pilgrim Half Marathon but my 4th this year and my favourite! Yes it's hilly and challenging but it's beautiful and so so friendly. The water stops are plenty and stocked up with biscuits, bananas, cakes, mars bars you name it! The marshalls are super friendly and encouraging. Absolutely loved it. Some of the hills are better walked but plenty of lovely downhills. It had rained all week and a few bits were muddy but considering it was really well drained. Would 100% recommend and we will be there next year!!
