My 76th marathon and the best by far. Everything was perfect. music at the start, organisation, no queues for portaloos, marshals overwhelmingly friendly, ample water and food stations, scenery best in the world. Just can't fault it! Thank you. Chrissy

Well signed. Lots of helpful marshalls and great food stations. Can't beat the scenery. One of the best organised races I've ever done. I'll be back!

There's not a lot of flat, it's either up or down but it is absolutely worth it. Stunning scenery, great marshals, very well organised and great value. I'd definitely go back again.

Fabulous, encouraging marshalls, great water/feed stations. Beautiful scenery, will always remember a few glimpses of poppies. Friendly event for first timers and experienced marathon runners. Loved the medal & free Hoppit beer in an engraved pint glass! Free photos to download were a lovely touch

A thoroughly enjoyable trail run (with a challenging hill to warm-up those quads at the beginning!), going through the beautiful Hampshire countryside; there's a welcoming, friendly and fun atmosphere throughout it.

This was my first marathon, trail or otherwise in 2017 and it was such a fantastic event that there was absolutely no way I was going to miss the opportunity to do it all again in 2018. I wasn't disappointed. An absolutely fabulous race in every way. Breathtaking scenery, great trails, challenging hills, superb organisation both before and on the day from wonderful volunteers. The marshalls were the best. Above all such a fabulous, uplifting atmosphere. Cannot wait until next year.

This was my first time running the Hampshire Hoppit and cannot recommend this event enough. I normally provide a Pro's and Cons list but for this event I cant come up with any cons. Here are my highlights.

- The Marathon Route is beautiful with a mix of scenary and terrain. My personal highlight being "Watership Down" which I read as a kids. I never clocked that it was an actual place. - The many (many!) marshals and drinks station staff were all amazing and encouraging. This goes for the unofficial ones as well. I guess you can guage the love for an event by the number of people that turn up to help that don't actually have to. - The Merch looks awesome. Beautiful medal & pint glass. I didn't try the beer as I was driving but heard it was lovely! - 100% Value for money. You know that every penny towards the fee has gone into the race i.e. official traffic control staff on the road crossing, high quality merch, loaded drinks stations etc.. - Pretty much all of the 42K route had been trimmed back this event falling slap bang in the middle to stingy nettle season. I wasnt stung once! - Fellow runners were very kind and chearful going out of there was to help others. - This one doesn't matter but its always nice to clock a celeb on the course. Vassos Alexander (sports comentator/radio DJ) did the marathon and came twenty something. What an achievement! - Again, one that doesnt matter but I like that the Mara/Half distance start and ended in the same place but took a different route. I can't wait to try the half next year! - The race village was very organised and a lovely setting. I only had to wait 30 seconds to spend a penny (there were loads of toilets) and when I went to collect my bag at the end the bag chap was holding it out to me before I'd even arrived at the tent! All race photos are free! (and there were a lot of photographers out on the course). - The results were also available to view the same day. - Thanks again Hampshire Hoppit for a lovely experience!

My first ever marathon, and I choose a cracker! It is very hilly but with the ups there are also downs! The most frustrating part of the race for me was just before halfway where the very narrow rutty track made it hard to run, even though it was a rare flat bit! Marshals were exceptional, with great food stations and excellent organisation. I felt very welcome and would love to come again next year. My only negative would be that I had fantasised about a burger for about 15 miles only to find when I finished (about 2/3rd down the field, so not the last!) that the food van had run out of everything apart from baked potatoes! One of those things, but hopefully they will bring a few more next year. Thanks to all the organisers for a really fantastic day, totally hooked on marathons now!

My 3rd time running this race. I love it. The organisation and scenery are wonderful, the marshalls fab and the goodie bag bulging. Pint glasses and Hoppit beer very welcome. Beautiful engraved jugs as prizes at the end too. So much thought clearly goes into the organising, I would not want to improve anything. Thank you Hoppit team. See you next year.
