Challenging scenic course
The Balfron 10k is a closed road running race run under Scottish Athletics permit, which has become a favourite among Scotland's running events. The course suits those that can take best advantage of the hills, and while rarely flat, has yielded some surprising PB's. It is not too hilly to be inaccessible to leisure runners though, and is a friendly, well supported race for beginners.
A favourite race
The officially measured course, chip-timing, winners' prizes and professional organisation appeal to serious runners, while the friendly atmosphere and traffic-free route through spectacular Stirlingshire scenery make it a thrilling experience for the weekend runner or first-timer. It's this wide appeal that has seen the Balfron event consistently appear in the top rank of Runner's World magazine's 10k league table.
As usual, there will be excellent goody bags, commemorative medals and t-shirts for all finishers.

Balfron is an attractive village in West Stirlingshire, and can be easily reached from Glasgow (30 mins), Edinburgh (1hr 15) and Stirling (25 mins).

All for a good cause
The race is organised by volunteers and all proceeds raised from this event are being donated to the local primary and secondary schools, and a local charity. To date we have raised over £70,000.00 for school sports and charitable causes.
