The race is a flat, fast course, starting and finishing in front of the Town Hall, incorporating most of the Hastings and St. Leonards sea-front and is completely traffic free, with the exception of two initial road closures near the start of the race. The race is a Sussex Grand Prix event.
Since the race's inception to the running calendar in 2006, the race has gone from strength to strength and now attracts many quality runners from all over the UK as shown by steadily falling course records. The course being pancake flat offers the more experienced runners the chance for a personal best or the perfect race for those new to running or looking at completing their first 5 mile race.
The race starts outside the historic Town Hall in the centre of Hastings adjacent to Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, whose generous sponsorship helps to stage the race. All proceeds from the race are donated to St. Michael's Hospice.
