The Mug's Game 5 is a charity event organised in aid of the Hampshire Autistic Society by Dave King, who is running around the British Isles in 80 races during 2007 (see January's Runner's World).
The race coincides with a charity fun day at Itchen Valley Country Park with an old-style school sports day taking place earlier in the afternoon. There will be loads of stalls and sideshows, including refreshments, and music from the Wave 105 roadshow to keep you running.
Hampshire runners who have enjoyed the RR10 course at Itchen Valley Country Park will be familiar with the route which is exactly the same - a multi-lap run over grassland and through woodland, with a couple of teasing hills thrown in.
The distance is 4.5 miles - an ideal first time race distance. You can either enter on-line through the Runner's World website, or download an entry form by logging onto the Stubbington Green Runners' website: click here />
This is a fun race on a Saturday evening in the summer, with a chidren's race being staged just before the main event. Bring the family along in a lovely, safe setting, have some fun, and help to raise money for autism.
