The 2012 North Devon AONB Marathon is now open to entries, following today’s website launch. The clamour has already started for places in this hugely popular race which has sold out months in advance both years it has been staged.
The North Devon AONB Marathon takes place on Sunday 24th June 2012, centering around Woolacombe Bay, and raises much-needed funds for North Devon Hospice. Organisers are once again expecting the 650 places to fill up fast. The event was amazingly popular in 2010 and 2011, selling out months in advance, so we really want to encourage people to sign up now to avoid disappointment. This race has gained a reputation as one of the toughest in the country, and attracts people from across the UK and abroad. It covers some stunning trails through the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as National Trust property. However, with just 400 places in the half marathon and 250 places in the full marathon available, once they’re gone, they’re gone!
Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks have been announced as the platinum sponsor for the 2012 North Devon Marathon. They are offering registered runners a 50% on a weekend's accommodation at any of their four parks in Woolacombe.
