Regarded as one of the Worlds daftest annual events, the 9th London Pantomime Horse Race, which traditionally takes place every December in Central Greenwich, will this year, take on a film & tv theme, that will see the streets of Greenwich turned into its very own Tinsel Town on the day of the famed race.
Each Participating 'Horse' will be transformed into an iconic Film or TV Character, so expect to see BatHorse, Marge Simpson, Thor & Mr. T, to name only a few of the 30 strong racing nags, like you've never seen them before.
The fun begins at 11:30 am with the 'Pre-Race Ceremony' show at Devonport House (King William Walk). The Show will be hosted by former CeeBeebies TV presenter, Sarah-Jane Honeywell, and will feature live music performances from well-known acts, Special celebrity appearances, plus former X-Factor contestant 'Honey G' will be dropping by to help judge the very daft 'Strictly Neigh Dancing' show, that will see 3 competing 'Horses' in a spectacular dance-off,. Whilst the build-up gets into swing, the worlds 1st costumed Sloth race, will be taking place. More details will be announced in the coming months but it's going to be something very fun to watch.
Before the race gets underway at 1 pm, a large procession featuring the costumed Nags, an assortment of costumed superheroes plus marching band, will make their way, from the Old Royal Naval College, into Devonport House.
At 1 pm, the race begins, with the Horses making their way around the various pit stops and surprise obstacles, that will greet them along the quarter-mile route from King William Walk to Royal Hill.
Then at 3 pm, the after-race show will be getting into the Xmas party mood, with exclusive music performances (TBA), a live music PA from 'Honey G' plus the Human Jukebox herself, Kirsty Newton, will be bringing the House down with her legendary piano singalong /karaoke show.
