Mick and Phil have inspired hundreds of runners with their own grit and determination to overcome the odds, to enjoy the pure pleasure they both get from running and racing. The father-and-son team, who live near Stratford-upon-Avon, in Warwickshire, have taken part in more than 300 races since 2002, including 31 marathons and 173 half-marathons. What makes them so inspirational to so many is that 50-year-old Mick pushes Phil's wheelchair along every mile - and achieves fantastic finish times in the process. Phil, who has cerebral palsy and sodium valproate syndrome, is most content when on the move and the joy of both is evident to anyone who has ever run alongside them. But the cost of travelling the country to compete in events most weekends could put a stop to their inspirational performance, which both father and son benefit from.
We want 1,000 people to take part in this half marathon to help keep Mick'n'Phil running - as well as volunteers to ensure it runs smoothly. ALL PROFITS GO TO THE LADS!
NOTE!!! Due to restrictions imposed on us by the venue, we've had to limit entries to 350 - so the race is now FULL. Sorry if you were not able to enter.
