The 2018 Jewson Barnstaple Marathon and Half Marathon follows on from the very succesful 2017 edition of the event in which we made changes to the course. For full reviews of our new course and event check out our Facebook reviews.
This is a fast flat course predominantly traffic free on a wide, open converted rail line - The Tarka Trail. The course takes in gorgeous estuary views and historically has proved to be very fast.
The marathon and half route are on a certified course and so provide an excellent opportunity to get GFA times. The race is organised by North Devon Road Runners and run under the ARC Running banner.
The Marathon will leave at 9am and head down the north side of the river first; this means tackling the airbase at Mile 7-9 before heading back to Barnstaple for the start of the second half which will visit Fremington and Yelland.
The Half Marathon is the same as previously, and starts at 10am. It then heads through Barnstaple and onto the Tarka trail towards Fremington.
