Voted best race in Britain in 2008. A half marathon (16 miles in 2012 - special edition) on trails, incorporating at least 3000 feet of ascent - the height of a Scottish Munro (3500 in 2012). The route takes in eight tough ascents, and eight tough descents (er... 11 in 2012). There are pleasant views, but you won't be able to see much of them because of the sweat stinging your eyes. The entry fee includes a donation to the race charity. Final race fee includes Runner's World entry processing fee, increased license fees from National Trust and fees for St John Ambulance.
Online entry only.
