My 2004 London Marathon

Time: 4:45

Q: What was the best moment (excluding the finish)?
A: Seeing the family and hearing the ear-splitting din of airhorns at mile 23 .Great companionship from ‘the Bobolink’-thanks Andy! Great support from Urwfrc and from team Macmillan.

Q: And the worst moment?
A: Feeling lousy with time and performance going over Tower Bridge, trying to smile for the photos and not getting snapped. Also news that fellow forumite had to pull out on the morning and I couldn’t get through because of dodgy mobile coverage.

Q: The biggest surprise? Or the most memorable moment?
A: How fat Graham Taylor is in real life. And always memorable to meet fellow forumites whose photos don’t always give a very accurate picture..

Q: What was your goal? And what was your finishing time?
A: Goal was sub 4, achieved 4.45 or so, didn’t do nearly enough mileage because of toe injury during January. Got the time I deserved and after mile 10 I would have bitten your arm off.

Q: What would you do differently? And indeed what was the key to your success?
A: More mileage.

Q: How will you be celebrating?
A: Putting feet up quietly at home
