What was the best moment (excluding the finish)?
Running along Embankment where I had two surprise supporters. Spurred me on no end! Split before seeing friends = 8:52.3. Split after seeing friends = 7:48.4!!
And London Bridge - couldn't hear myself think for all the noise. Awesome.
And the worst moment?
Getting the trots twice! And having to queue for the toilets - from the point of view of time lost and the fact that I was about to explode.
The biggest surprise? Or the most memorable moment?
The fact that the race atmosphere lived up to all the hype. The night before I hadn't slept a wink - I was more excited than the nights before Christmas! And none of those expectations were let down.
Already mentioned, the moment when I heard my name being screamed, and thought, ""oh well, must be for another Adam"", and then glanced to my right and saw my friends!
What was your goal? And what was your finishing time?
Goal - 3:30
Time - 3:24
Next stop - sub 3:05 in nottingham and/or marathon des sables
What would you do differently? And indeed what was the key to your success?
I'd try not to get the trots. Don't know exactly HOW. Also control water drinking a bit more, as I needed a pee most of the way, which was conveniently relieved by my more pressing toilet needs.
How will you be celebrating?
Had a small celebration with two other runners yesterday. Otherwise, I'll be milking my friends, asking for massages and going out and eating lots. Back to the fry-up, uh-oh! "
