|Geneva Marathon for Unicef on 3-4th May 2014: Celebrate the 10th edition and run one of the world’s most beautiful marathons!|
Considered as one of the world's most beautiful marathons and praised for its solid organisation by runners around the world, the Geneva Marathon for Unicef will once again take runners on a journey that encompasses the heart of Geneva and its iconic landmarks – the Lake Geneva water-jet, the Mont Blanc Bridge and classical architecture to the countryside with the distant snow-capped mountains of the Swiss and French Alps dominating the skyline. Participants from more than 100 different nationalities will run along the shores of Lake Geneva and its azure blue waters to cross the finish line on the famous Pont du Mont-Blanc, right in the centre of the city.
A weekend running festival, the Geneva Marathon for Unicef will celebrate its 10th edition by offering seven races including a new 10km course (open to runners and walkers), Junior Races (1-5km for 6 to 15 year olds), "La Genevoise" (5km female only race), a Wheelchair and Handcycle race, a Relay Marathon (with teams of 6 runners), a Half Marathon and the main event, the full Marathon.
The city of Geneva is well connected to Europe with numerous daily flights and rail connections, and offers a wide choice of quality accommodation, making this marathon both accessible and enjoyable on every level.
Through its partnership with Unicef, the event also raises money for water projects intended to provide clean drinking water to children in developing countries.
