Yesterday The Royal Parks Foundation launched their new event: The Ultra. This 50K race will set off after their popular half-marathon on October 7, with 700 spaces up for grabs in its first year.
Here at RW Towers we’ve noticed the trend of runners going longer and longer. And this event looks like a crowd pleaser that could seduce many marathoners into pushing through extra miles.
The route will tick off tourist hotpots including Buckingham Palace and Westminster, five of the eight picturesque Royal Parks and wind through South West London before finishing in Bushy Park. Signage and marshals will feature along the full length of the route, together with regular first aid and refreshment stages (approx. every 10K). There’ll also be baggage transfer from the start to the finish and post-event showers.
Participants will also need to raise £750 to support the work of Scope. Find out more about the Royal Parks Foundation Ultra.
