An exciting new city 10K, taking in all of Leeds’ iconic landmarks, and sure to be a major charity fundraiser.

National Highlights

Wellingborough Multiterrain Series

Wellingborough Multiterrain 5K, 10K and 15K (Northamptonshire, February 11)

The second round in a multi-terrain racing series, set in the beautiful grounds of Irchester Country Park, a former ironstone quarry and now a haven of wildlife. Whatever distance you choose to race, you’ll have to negotiate gravel, grass and mud, pass through wide flat meadows and tackle narrow uneven paths to complete this undulating course. Enter the third round too (in March) for a great way of gauging your progress over the winter and spring months.

St Peters Great East Run

St Peters Great East Run 20K (Suffolk, February 18)

Brewery sponsorship spells free beer for all entrants of this testing 20K. Throw in some fruit, a mug of hot fresh soup, a post-race massage and a shiny medal to boot… come on, admit it, the promise of a loot-filled goody bag has got you interested.

The course starts and finishes in the market town of Bungay, looping through the undulating Suffolk countryside and passing a number of The Saints, villages so named for their quaint parish churches. Be sure to save something for the uphill finish, or you could live to regret the enthusiasm with which you tackled the opening descent.

Terminator 10

Terminator 10 (Wiltshire, February 25)

If your race-day wish-list reads blood, sweat, tears and more mud than a hippo’s bathtub, then this is the event for you. Don’t be fooled by the tranquil start along the towpaths of the Kennet and Avon canal – a few miles in and you’ll be knee-high in dirt as you wade through “The Gully”, battle up “Terminator Hill” and take on “The Sting in the Tail”.

New for 2007 is The Big Team Challenge – a cash prize incentive for teams and clubs – while all entrants registering before February 19 are guaranteed a finisher T-shirt upon completion of this tough off-road course.
