Why do it A readily accessible race with an added historic poignancy. This point-to-point marathon runs through the 17 villages and towns that line the beaches targeted by the allied forces during the Normandy landings in June 1944. A shorter 15K race over the final part of the marathon course is also available, named after the first bridge liberated by the English, the Pegasus Bridge. The finish is situated at the Peace Memorial in Caen. This is a race with a family-friendly feel, which has a variety of amusements for the younger generation at the finish.

Getting there By road its two hours from Paris on the A13, but a ferry to Caen (Ouistreham) is probably the easiest option. By rail Caen is a mainline station. By air Paris is the nearest airport.
