The 7th Studland 5K
Sunday 30th August, Studland Village Green, Swanage
This off-road route is a great opportunity to bring the kids along, as the minimum entry age is just 11. The route is surrounded by beautiful views of Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island, although make sure to watch your step on the multiterrain course. Upon completion there’s a bar and BBQ, so it has the potential to be a fun day out for all the family.
Self Transcendence 5K
Monday 3rd August, Battersea Park
Everybody loves a marshal willing you on and this race has them in abundance. A great opportunity to beat your PB with the track set in the flat and particularly beautiful Battersea Park. This occasion offers competitiveness and friendliness in equal measure, so whether you’re looking for a race or you’re just there for the ride, this event can accommodate both.
Active Life Surf N Turf Aquathlon
Sunday 16th August, Whitstable, Kent
If you’re looking for something a little different, the Active Life Surf N Turf Aquathlon is perfect. A 200m swim before a 5K run alongside 300 participants is a fab way to get the party started. If you’re looking for something a little tougher, there’s also the option of a 400m swim with a 10K run. Either way it’s a great gig and if you enjoy triathlons, you should definitely take a look at this one.
Dereham 5K Town Race
Sunday 23rd August, Dereham, Norfolk
This is a fun little race with a real homely feel: two laps of the picturesque Dereham Town, before finishing up in the park. Alongside that you get a medal for your efforts, plus there are trophies for the winners. What’s not to like?
The Podplus Ashford Summer 5K Series
Friday 21st August, Ashford, Surrey
If you want to give your PB a run for its money, this may be the perfect place. Known for being a fast track, the Victoria Park course has minimal incline and includes finish line goodies for all competitors, plus there’s a one-mile fun run for kids.
