Head to head: Asafa Powell v. Tyson Gay
Jamaica's Asafa Powell is the world's fastest man this year, but what do the stats say about Powell and his rival Tyson Gay's prospects in this summer's sprint duel? The jury is out. Will time-tested talent or blistering current form win the day this summer?
The Aviva London Grand Prix returns to Crystal Palace, on 13th & 14th of August, bringing with it a feast of world class athletics and a carnival atmosphere for all the family to enjoy.
As part of the new Samsung Diamond League series, expect to see the big names in Track and Field clash including Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay.
The best of British will also be on show at Crystal Palace when the Aviva Great Britain and Northern Ireland team members return from European Championship success just 2 weeks earlier, captained by gold medal hopeful, Jessica Ennis. Ennis will be joined on the 26 July to 1 August in Barcelona by as many as 10 medallists from the 2009 World Championships in Berlin and five from the World Indoor Championships held in Doha earlier this year, plus a number of other medal contenders.
With plenty to do around the stadium supporting the athletics on the track, from athletics activities and competitions, to an Alfa Romeo driving simulator, we’re expecting this to be one of the top family days out in London this summer.
