Whether you’ve water-damaged your iPhone carrying it in your bra, hated the feel of a bouncing running belt, or just suffered from the age-old running dilemma of how to carry your stuff, these sports bras are worth shouting about. Sure, while arm bands, running belts and hydration vests all have their place and purpose, we – as runners – are nothing if not particular.
This is where these sports bras come in handy – they all have storage pockets big enough for your phone, keys and even a lip balm. Whilst the pockets, support offered and price vary, they’ll all allow you to ditch the running belt on a short run.
The best sports bras with pockets:
With all the supportive features you’ve grown to know and love in a Nike sports bra – compressive fabric, sweat-wicking technology and adjustable straps, but with a front pocket. According to one ultramarathon-running-reviewer the pocket is big enough for a phone or a gel or two, plus the bra didn’t chafe once.
With a phone panel on the racerback and a double-flap closure to keep it safe, there’s also a headphone slot on this affordable bra. Whilst it might not be supportive enough for runners with larger breasts, it’s chafe resistant, moisture wicking and quick drying, plus, if you’ve got Amazon Prime, you could be running in it tomorrow.
Nike’s last season Swoosh pocket bra can be tricky to get hold of now, and it’s no surprise. Simple but reliable sweat-wicking technology, with a large pocket built in to the elasticated under band – genius.
Gap might not be the first place you think to go when shopping for gym kit, but their collections are always pretty stylish. Best suited for smaller breasted runners, this bra comes in four different prints and has a concealed phone holder built into the racer back.
Known for their beautiful prints, this Varley bra is as practical as it is pretty. Quick drying, sweat-wicking and chafe free, there’s also a racerback pocket to keep your phone, gel or other small essentials safe as you run.
This Under Armour bra is another that did well last season, so might be tricky to find for too much longer. With a compressive fit, the bra is sweat-wicking, with soft, removable cups and, most importantly for pocket hunters, a small hidden front chest slot for keys and cards.
Another high-impact support bra that’s best suited for A and B-cup sized runners, the Stow N Go bra has a handy in-built storage pocket. The only downside is that it’s a last-season design that can be a little tricky to get hold of.
Similar to the Pocket Bra above, this new bra from Under Armour has a mesh-lined, sweat-wicking pocket that securely holds all your things in safe, whilst the comfortable crossback straps help hold everything else in place!
With a phone pocket on the back, this Gymshark sports bra might not be supportive enough for all runners, but is an affordable buy for hands-free cross training sessions.
