Gear Pick of the Week: Nike Free Run+ 3 Women’s Running Shoes

Nike Free Run+ 3 Women's Running Shoes (SS12), £80.00

Kerry says: Research has shown (well, straw polls conducted at RW towers from time to time) that women are more concerned with the aesthetics of their running kit than men. While men need functionality and would quite like to look good, both qualities are an absolute must for the majority of women.

Which is why something like the Nike Free 3.0 is so impressive. It looks great, it feels great, it's suitable for the gym but technically, as a running shoe, it also more than holds its own.

Super-flexible outer with deep cut groves to promote rapid roll through of the foot from heel-strike to toe-off; an extremely breathable upper, perfect for summer runs in the heat, no seams on the inside mean no irritation, and the panels on the upper are stitched together in a way that makes them move with, rather than constricting, your foot.

The lightweight and responsiveness make it best suited for neutral and lighter runner but even heavier or over pronating runners will get something (greater ankle and calf strength) out of wearing this for shorter training runs.
