The RW pacers will be making one more outing this year, at the Bupa Great North Run on October 6.
We'll be aiming to get home inside 1:30 and 1:45, as well as running a relaxed, run/walk 'Get You Round'.
You will have to have an entry to the race if you want to join us (remembering that the only way to enter now is through a charity), then once there all you have to do is look for the big pacers' boards, which we'll be holding up at the start.
The Pace groups will be led by the following members of the RUNNER'S WORLD team: Sub-1:30 with Sean Fishpool, Steve Smythe and Rob Spedding; Sub-1:45 with Steven Seaton and Oliver Roberts; ‘Get You Round’ run-walk group with Pauline Carter, Nicola Freeman and Catherine Perry. (They will be anticipating a finish around 2;30 and will run five minutes and walk one minute.)
The pacers will assemble a little in front of the anticipated time signs. The pacers will themselves be carrying a large banner with signs, indicating their target times. The pacers will run with florescent yellow sticks, and wear RUNNER’S WORLD pacing vests. They will attempt to run as evenly as possible. However, because of the large numbers running, it is inevitable that the sub-1:30 and sub-1:45 groups will need to go faster than target pace to make up for time lost crossing the line and congestion in the early miles.
We've designed a customised training schedule for the race, which you can click on below.
We look forward to running with you!
