Dina Asher-Smith has set a new British Championships record, running 100m in just 11.08 seconds. The 19-year-old hit the time yesterday (Sunday 5th July) at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham. Asher-Smith's time was only 0.06 seconds off the GB national record she set in the Netherlands this May.

In the men's heats, Chijindu Ujah ran a 10.1-second 100m, finishing just ahead of fellow GB sprinter James Dasaolu. Both men qualified for the World Championships, which take place next month in Beijing.
