Double triumph for Kenya at NYC Marathon 2015

Sunday 1st November saw Kenyan runners Stanley Biwott and Mary Keitany land first place at the 45th annual TCS New York City Marathon.

29-year-old Biwott's 2:10:34 win marked his first New York City Marathon title and first Marathon Majors race. He beat fellow Kenyan Geoffrey Kamworor to the finish line by 14 seconds, closely followed by Ethiopia's Lelisa Desisa.

Keitany, 33, defended her 2015 title, winning in 2:24:25. This put her more than a minute ahead of second and third-place runners Aselefech Mergia and Tigist Tufa, both from Ethiopia.
