Run with the Girls 10K, a new women-only race based in London's Hyde Park, is set to launch on Sunday 4th October. The leads runners past the iconic Serpentine Lake and around the picturesque Royal Park, with its flat course making it perfect for beginners and PB-chasers.
The event is partnered with women's running charity A Mile in Her Shoes, which leads running groups for vulnerable women. 5% of each entry fee will be donated to the cause. Charity founder Nicola Miller said: “Working with Run with the Girls will give us the opportunity to highlight how running can really make a difference to women’s lives. Our charity helps women to try running as a way of exercising, socialising, lifting confidence and boosting self-esteem. The donations from this event are sure to make a real difference to what we do on a daily basis.”
Event founder Richard Xerri, a physiotherapist and athletics coach, said: “We are really thrilled to be organising this event in Hyde Park as it is such an iconic London park. We wanted to organise a women’s event to show our support of getting more women active and providing a women’s run provides them with a fun and friendly environment to run as an individual or as part of a team with friends.”
