Runner plans Premiership challenge

For anyone who likes running and football, Matt Rogerson is combining the two in an epic challenge.

Setting off from Newcastle United, Matt Rogerson plans to run around the grounds of 21 of the most successful Premier League sides of all time, finishing at the Mecca of World Football, White Hart Lane, on April 20, 2013.

Every day he will run approximately 30 miles, totalling roughly 700 miles over 24 days. If that wasn’t difficult enough, the day after Matt finishes, he will be completing the Virgin London Marathon.

“Before I get deafened by the chorus of ‘Why would he do such a thing?!’” Matt says, “let me tell you it is not a jolly, but a vehicle to raise money for three charities, all of which have been chosen for good reasons.”

These charities are Breakthro Llanelli, The Bobby Moore Fund and the British Heart Foundation.

Matt aims to raise at least £50,000 but is hoping for closer to £100,000.

“Aim for the stars,” he says.
