WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Six highly enthusiastic runners (of all abilities) who are prepared to commit 100% to this exciting project. Motivation and the desire to succeed are more important than your previous race times - you'll be up for the challenge of following one of our new and improved 2011 marathon schedules and be prepared to share your training highs and lows with the Runner's World community (both online and in print). You will need to be able to commit to following and completing the RW marathon schedule, and be ready to begin training on December 20.
You'll already be a registered member of runnersworld.co.uk and you'll feel at home chatting on our forums, whether you're analysing a recent session with your mentor, discussing what you ate for breakfast with a nutritionist or simply chewing the fat with other runners.
You'll also be available to attend a Selection Day with the coaches, PRO Team experts and Runner's World staff in Birmingham on Saturday December 4, two training days in Birmingham on January 29 and March 5 2011 and one of a selection of ASICS half-marathons.
Here's what some of last year's team had to say about their experience:
"I must thank you for a fantastic prize. I've loved being part of this and even though my marathon went totally pear shaped (just shows we are all human!) I really enjoyed the journey and would happily do it again! My thread has been a real pleasure to "host" and I am sure I can speak for everyone on there when I say we all learned a lot about training and nutrition (and indeed ourselves)." Evil Pixie
"The Super Six project can really work. The whole Super Six experience has been, and will remain, one of the greatest of my life. I judge this not by my finish time on the day but how prepared I was on the start line given that I had virtually zero running experience compared with the others. I absolutely loved it. My coach Steve was truly fantastic. He went way beyond the "job description” - he came on board the thread before the start date and is still answering queries now." Andy V
"It's an amazing project and we are all immensely grateful for the chance we've been given. This is like nothing else any of us have ever done or are likely to do in the future so we all recognise it's a once in a lifetime chance and we've all grabbed it with both hands and gone with it." Matchstick Man
| Steve Smythe
Steve worked at Runner's World for 10 years and took over the marathon schedules when Bruce Tulloh retired from writing them. Steve has run more than 60 marathons (26 Londons) and as well as holding a PB of 2:29, he has also won a British marathon title in his age group. As far as his coaching record goes - he's helped one runner to British international level over the marathon distance and another to a British age-group record. He also coaches around 30 runners in his running club, whose marathon times range from 2:30 to outside five hours.
| Bud Baldaro
Former national marathon coach and ASICS PRO Team member Bud Baldaro is one of the UK's top middle and long distance running coaches. With more than 20 years' experience of coaching athletes at all levels, he now works as a mentor for England Athletics and is athletics coach to the University of Birmingham team. Bud has coached Olympians, Commonwealth medallists, World and European champions and several UK record breakers.

HOW TO APPLY
First, download and complete the application form.
As well as some basic personal details, we'd like a brief synopsis of your running background, your target marathon time and your reasons for wanting to join our team. Please return your application to us via email before midday on Friday, November 19 2010.
From all the entries we receive, we'll then whittle them down to a longlist of runners across a variety of target times. If you are shortlisted, we'll contact you by telephone after the entry closing date.
There will then be two further stages of selection. The first is a 'boot camp' style selection day in Birmingham on December 4 2010, where you will meet the coaches, PRO Team experts and Runner's World staff to assess your health, fitness and injury history.
Shortly after the selection day, we will choose a final shortlist of 18-24 runners. Information about the shortlisted runners will be published on runnersworld.co.uk and the RW community invited to vote for the final line-up. The final result will be announced in mid-December before the training schedules start on December 20.
All shortlisted candidates will receive an ASICS goody bag (packed with kit perfect for your marathon training), entry to a spring half-marathon of your choice and a copy of the Runner's World Complete Guide to Running (RRP £9.99).
