HEINEKEN Race to the Tower

HEINEKEN Race to the Tower is a new ultra marathon from Threshold Sports, the organisers of the multi-award winning ultras, Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones and Race to the King.

Taking place for the first time this year on 10th and 11th June, participants will walk, jog or run 53 miles, non-stop or over two days camping overnight, through the idyllic Cotswolds to the Broadway Tower.

The route goes through some of England’s most charming stone villages including Winchcombe and Painswick, passing landmarks such as Hailes Abbey and Sudeley Castle before reaching the epic finish at the foot of Broadway Tower, the Cotswolds’ highest tower, with a spectacular view across 16 counties.

Like the other events in the Threshold Trail Series, it celebrates the best of Britain’s dramatic countryside and rich history. You can choose to run or walk the route in one day or two, non-stop or stay overnight in the basecamp, where there will be entertainment, massages, hot showers, a hot supper and a hearty breakfast.

And HEINEKEN Race to the Tower is designed for everyone regardless of fitness levels or running ability. The fastest will complete the course in eight hours while many will take their time over the whole weekend.

The ultra is fully supported; everything is done for you. You will receive training plans, nutrition and kit advice so you’re prepared and at the event itself there will be flawless signage, route timing, regular pit stops and medical support.

Julian Mack, Threshold Sports says: “The Cotswolds Way is a stunning route and the ideal place to get you out of your comfort zone. Runners and walkers can expect idyllic landscapes, inspirational views, quintessential villages and a stiff challenge of your resolve, over the two-day event.

It’ll be a fabulous finish line at Broadway Tower where you’ll be greeted by an amazing view and - of course - a nice cold beer or cider."
