West Midlands Police are hunting for a man suspected of assault, after a runner in his 60’s was punched in the face last Sunday 19 August.

The victim was running inside Cannon Hill Park  in Birmingham early in the morning, with his wife, when he was approached and attacked.

Police officers have issued a CCTV image of the man they want to speak to and a spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We want to speak to him after a man was assaulted in Cannon Hill Park at around 8am on 19 August.

“A man in his 60s was jogging with his wife, when he was approached by the suspect who started shouting at him. When he ignored this, the unknown man punched him in the face.

“Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 767 of 19 August.”
