Sir Mo Farah gears up for Chicago Marathon next week

Mo Farah gears up for Chicago Marathon

So far, it’s been a good of a year for Mo Farah – he broke the British Marathon record at the London Marathon in April, beating Steve Jones’s 33-year record by a minute and a half, he won his fifth Great North Run, and (of course) he was our 25th anniversary cover star.

Now, the four time Olympic gold medallist is gearing up to take on the Chicago Marathon in two-weeks time, running alongside defending champion and former training partner, Galen Rupp.

Farah has been sharing his final training runs on social media, before the inevitable tapering begins for the big day. This is Farah’s third marathon, and he has been confident about his chances of shaving time off his marathon PB of 2:06:21.

Chicago is known for being a seriously fast and competitive marathon and this year promises to be no different. The relatively flat course is a favourite of elites aiming for personal bests.

When will the Chicago Marathon start UK time and how can I watch it?

The Chicago Marathon will start at 2.30pm on Sunday 7th October UK time (the race kicks off at 8.30am). FloTrack will provide live coverage of the marathon for viewers in the UK and Ireland, but does require a subscription.
