Acai berry balance bowl

Acai bowls are a top contender for the most Instagrammable breakfast, but they're not style over substance. This recipe provides three to four of your five a day and makes for a refreshing change to a plain breakfast smoothie.


Why is this good for runners?

Acai berries are a potent source of polyphenols and flavonoids, which have been linked to improved heart health.

Coconut water is naturally high in electrolytes, which are essential for rehydration.

Bananas contain dietary fibre, potassium and are a great source of pre-run carbs.


Ingredients

2 Sambazon Original Blend Superfruit packs

60ml coconut water or coconut milk

1 banana

½ mango

Handful frozen mixed berries

Small handful greens (like kale or spinach)

Sprigs fresh mint

1 tsp maca powder

Toppings: Granola, sliced banana, mango chunks, coconut shreds


 

1/ Cut your Sambazon Superfruit Packs in half and break into blender.

2/ Add all other ingredients, using half the liquid to start. Blend thick, stirring as needed.

3/ Pour into a bowl, top and enjoy!
