Chocolate, cherry and coconut recovery bites

These sweet bites are addictive, perfect after a hard run when recovery is critical and hunger is looming. It’s hard to stop at just one, but two or three make a good-sized recovery snack and are just enough to take the edge off before a full meal. They also work as an after-dinner treat or to satisfy a chocolate craving.

Chocolate, cherry and coconut recovery bites

Makes 28 small bites

350g fresh medjool dates, pitted

60g dried tart cherries

65g desiccated coconut, unsweetened

1 tbsp pure unsweetened cocoa powder

65g almond flour

1 tbsp coconut oil, melted

1. Put all the ingredients into a food processor and blend until well combined and sticky.

2. Shape the mixture into bites by rolling into balls or pressing into a greased ice tray. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to a week.
