Usain Bolt vs. chicken nuggets

At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Usain Bolt famously chowed down on around 100 Chicken McNuggets a day – roughly 1000 over his 10-day stint – simply because he didn’t like the Chinese food on offer. If he’s not big on Japanese food either, he’s in luck: McDonald’s Japan is launching a Chicken McNugget bucket containing a massive 48 McNuggets – that’s 2256 calories.

At 6’4” tall and weighing 14 stone 11lbs, sprinter Bolt burns an estimated 10 calories per 100m race.  Leaving training out of the equation, Bolt would need to run 225.6 lots of 100 metres to burn off the 48-piece mega-bucket. A 10-stone, 5’5” woman have to do just under two hours at a 10-minute mile for the same burn, while a 12-stone, 6’ man would have to run for an hour and 40 minutes at the same pace.
