Yorkshire folk have a reputation of knowing a good bargain when they see it and one of the county’s most popular runs certainly offers value for money.
The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon-Sheffield on Sunday 9th April offers three great challenges in just one event.
There’s the chance to take on the race’s famous hill, show your finishing power on the downhill final 10K and conquer the overall half marathon – and personalised times are provided for all three.
And the excellent value doesn’t stop there. Once the runners have crossed the finish line they can celebrate their achievement with free medal engraving.
The event also includes a free-to-enter mini and junior run for children aged between 3 and 14. Groups can also battle it out for bragging rights in the Team Challenge.
With stunning views of the Peak District, fantastic support, a wonderful atmosphere, huge sums raised for good causes and a super city centre start and finish, it’s easy to see why the race attracts thousands of runners.
The Plusnet Yorkshire Half Marathon-Sheffield stands as part of the lasting legacy of the late fundraiser and campaigner Jane Tomlinson, who raised almost £2m for charity by tackling a series of epic challenges, including cycling over 4,000 miles across America, despite being diagnosed with incurable cancer.
