For those who use Strava, going Premium may not have been of much interest, but today Strava has announced some new perks for Strava Premium members and the benefits could make it a fiscally sound investment.
Alongside the existing benefits of upgrading, strava.com/premium/perks lists the latest updates for Premium members, which includes insurance and discounts from brands such as Wiggle and Science in Sport.
The biggest plus for runner however is the inclusion of Sundays Insurance accidental damage cover for a smartphone or GPS device up to £350 (used while recording Strava activities), running race entry reimbursement in case you get injured, and further discount on travel, life and health insurance. This means that if you fall and smash your Garmin and yourself before race, all should be well.
Here's what Strava had to say about it all;
“We know that Premium members join to get the most out of their sport and the most out of Strava,” says David Lorsch, VP Strategy & Business Development at Strava, “which is why we’re committed to continually developing new features as well as introducing these new perks for athletes. Premium is our all-out effort to keep athletes safe, improve their performance, and to make every activity as enjoyable as possible; we’ve carefully selected partners and providers who share this same ethos."
So for £5.99 per month or £44.99 annually, you can get some insurance, discount on product and some other bits and pieces. Makes the prospect of spending some money on Premium perhaps more inticing for some. It won't guarantee you any KOMs however.
