Run a marathon under your own steam this May with MyMarathon

Join the fight against heart disease by taking on 26.2 miles in your own time, at your own pace, any time during May.

Keen to run a marathon but prefer dancing to the beat of your own drum? If you’ve always fancied nailing the 26.2-mile distance but find the idea of race day a bit daunting, now you can run a marathon under your own steam.

To encourage us Brits to embrace running and raise vital funds for research in the process, The British Heart Foundation have launched MyMarathon and challenged the nation to run a marathon in May.

The good news is you don’t need to squeeze in long runs and train like mad for the event. You can join the fight against heart disease by taking on 26.2 miles in your own time, at your own pace, any time during the month of May.

Whether it’s over four hours, four days or four weeks, simply log your run commutes, lunchtime jogs and parkruns until you’ve reached the distance.

The UK’s single biggest killer, heart and circulatory disease affects around seven million people in the UK and is responsible for around 155,000 deaths each year – around one person every three minutes.

Every pound raised from MyMarathon will help the BHF fulfil its ambition to revolutionise and accelerate the fight against heart disease.
